Screen Peptide Sequences

Screen your peptide sequences using our comprehensive prediction models. The AMP Identifier predicts antimicrobial activity, while the Activity Predictor assesses activity specifically against E. coli and S.aureus. The Hemolysis Predictor evaluates potential hemolytic toxicity. The system supports both FASTA file uploads and direct sequence input. You may input up to 10,000 sequences per submission in the text box, or upload a FASTA file containing up to 10,000 sequences and 5 MB in size.

Supports FASTA format or plain text (one sequence per line). Max 10000 sequences.

📊 Scoring System Explanation

Model Scores

AMP Score: Probability of being an antimicrobial peptide (0-1)

  • Threshold: 0.998
  • Score > 0.998 → Predicted as AMP (+1 point)
  • Based on PeptideBERT-LSTM model trained on validated AMP databases

E.coli Score: Probability of antimicrobial activity against E.coli (0-1)

  • Threshold: 0.9980798959732056
  • Score > threshold → Active against E.coli (Gram-negative) (+1 point)
  • Predicts bactericidal activity against Escherichia coli

S.aureus Score: Probability of antimicrobial activity against S.aureus (0-1)

  • Threshold: 0.9989857077598572
  • Score > threshold → Active against S.aureus (Gram-positive) (+1 point)
  • Predicts bactericidal activity against Staphylococcus aureus

Hemolytic Score: Probability of hemolytic activity (0-1)

  • Threshold: 0.5
  • Score ≤ 0.5 → Non-hemolytic, safe for therapeutic use (+1 point)
  • Score > 0.5 → Hemolytic, may damage red blood cells
  • Critical for drug safety assessment

Overall Evaluation

Score: Cumulative score based on all four criteria (0-4 points)

Good Score = 4/4

  • Meets all criteria: AMP + E.coli activity + S.aureus activity + Non-hemolytic
  • Broad-spectrum antimicrobial with low toxicity
  • Highly recommended for further validation and development

Mediocre Score = 2-3/4

  • Partially meets criteria
  • May have limited spectrum or safety concerns
  • Acceptable but requires careful evaluation of trade-offs

Bad Score = 0-1/4

  • Fails to meet most criteria
  • Either not antimicrobial, inactive against targets, or toxic
  • Not recommended for therapeutic development

ℹ️ About Screening: All sequences are evaluated using the same comprehensive 4-criteria system. Results are automatically sorted by score (highest to lowest) to help you identify the most promising candidates quickly.

💡 Note: If a peptide is clearly not an antimicrobial peptide, its sequence will be filtered out (for example, peptides longer than 50 amino acids or shorter than 5 amino acids) and will not appear in the final results.

⚠️ Important: These predictions are computational estimates. High-scoring peptides should be validated experimentally before clinical or commercial use.
